Acupressure is a complementary therapy that involves applying pressure to specific points on the body to balance energy, promoting healing, reducing muscle tension, relieving pain and much more. Similar to acupuncture in the use of specific acu-points, but utilises pressure from a specialist acupressure pen instead of needles, ideal for those with needle phobias or those who prefer a non-invasive therapy.
Acupressure is believe to stimulate the bodies natural healing processes, increasing blood flow, releasing endorphins and improving oxygen delivery to the stimulated acupressure points. This helps to relax tense muscles, relieve stiffness, and support the management of pain. Acupressure techniques used by Soul Focus do not include massage.
Acupressure therapy can be offered in treatment of the following conditions:
*Neck pain
*Shoulder pain
*Knee pain
*Upper and lower back pain
*Ankle pain
*Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
It is likely that more than one session will be required to manage pain. Acupressure cannot cure pain but will offer natural pain relief which can vary person to person. It also can have the additional benefits of promoting relaxation and improving sleep. Acupuncture can be used along side medical care to enhance outcomes.
Acupressure Reiki is a unique combination of traditional Japanese Reiki (Usui Reiki), Chinese and Indian traditional healing techniques and acupressure . Combining reiki and acupressure brings the benefits of both healing modalities together to balance energies and stimulate energy flow to alleviate pain, reduce stress and anxiety, reduce fatigue, improve blood pressure and improve overall health and wellbeing.
The Gua Sha non-surgical facelift combines Gua Sha with facial lift techniques. It is designed to reduce puffiness, improve lymphatic drainage, relieve facial tension, tone muscle, boost collagen and smooth and sculpt your skin, enhancing facial contours and facial definition.
Application of a cleanser and oil or moisturiser will be required, please attend without make-up. A smooth edged tool will be used to gently scrape the skin along with tools to roll and press the skin. This will be done gently, however some people find their skin maybe red after treatment and for a day or two afterwards. The Gua Sha is combined with Acupressure to achieve fantastic results. Consultation will be required prior to treatment and more than one treatment will be required for sustained results. Individual results will vary person to person but we aim for the best results for each person every time.
You can also upgrade to our Advanced Gua Sha Facial which includes all of the above but with the added benefit of manual Lymphatic Drainage Techniques for exceptional rejuvenation of your skin.
Gua Sha involves 'scraping' to specific areas of the body using a smooth-edged tool to restore the body's flow of energy by working points of tension and encouraging blood flow to relieve tension, inflammation and encourage healing. Gua Sha literally translates to 'scraping sand' which makes reference to the light redness and speckled petechiae (red spots) that can temporarily appear on the skin after treatment.
Gua Sha can help with pain relief, relieving muscle tension, improving circulation and lymphatic drainage, reducing inflammation and promoting the bodies natural healing processes. It can also be used in the complimentary treatment of some ailments. Gua Sha can be combined with Crystal Therapy and/or Acupuncture to improve health and wellbeing. At Soul Focus, Gua Sha techniques do not include massage. Gua Sha is not an alternative to medical care and treatment should be used alongside advice/treatment from your GP/Specialist Practitioner.
