Acupressure

Acupressure is a complementary therapy that involves applying pressure to specific points on the body to balance energy, promoting healing, reducing muscle tension, relieving pain and much more. Similar to acupuncture in the use of specific acu-points, but utilises pressure from a specialist acupressure pen instead of needles, ideal for those with needle phobias or those who prefer a non-invasive therapy.

Acupressure is believe to stimulate the bodies natural healing processes, increasing blood flow, releasing endorphins and improving oxygen delivery to the stimulated acupressure points.  This helps to relax tense muscles, relieve stiffness, and support the management of pain.  Acupressure techniques used by Soul Focus do not include massage.

Acupressure for Pain

Acupressure therapy can be offered in treatment of the following conditions:

*Neck pain

*Shoulder pain

*Knee pain

It is likely that more than one session will be required to manage pain. Acupressure cannot cure pain but will offer natural pain relief which can vary person to person.  It also can have the additional benefits of promoting relaxation and improving sleep.  Acupuncture can be used along side medical care to enhance outcomes.

Crystal Acupressure

Combining the use of crystals and Acupressure (without massage) to treat specific painful conditions such as neck pain, back pain and joint pain.  Acupressure is a manual therapy technique that involves applying pressure to certain points on the body to provide pain relief but instead of using traditional acupressure pens, crystal points are used to enhance the healing process by the addition of crystal vibrations to amplify to flow of healing energies to the painful areas.

Gua Sha Therapy

Gua Sha involves 'scraping' to specific areas of the body using a smooth-edged tool to  restore the body's flow of energy by working points of tension and encouraging blood flow to relieve tension, inflammation and encourage healing.  Gua Sha literally translates to 'scraping sand' which makes reference to the light redness and speckled petechiae (red spots) that can temporarily appear on the skin after treatment.

Gua Sha can help with pain relief, relieving muscle tension, improving circulation and lymphatic drainage, reducing inflammation and promoting the bodies natural healing processes. It can also be used in the  complimentary treatment of some ailments.  Gua Sha can be combined with Crystal Therapy and/or  Acupuncture to improve health and wellbeing. At Soul Focus, Gua Sha techniques do not include massage.  Gua Sha is not an alternative to medical care and treatment should be used alongside advice/treatment from your GP/Specialist Practitioner.

Healing Crystals

Healing Crystals
Healing Crystals are a natural and holistic therapy technique that uses crystals to treat mind, body and soul.

Ancient Cultures

Many ancient cultures such as the Ancient Egyptians, Greeks, Sumerians, Chinese and Romans, amongst others, cherished crystals for their healing powers.

Ancient civilisations used crystals in daily spiritual practices as they believed not only did the crystals have healing properties but could also offer protection and spiritual guidance.

Ancients wore amulets made with crystals, to protect from negative energies or malevolent spirits.  Roman soldiers adorned their armour with crystals believing them to offer them protection.  The ancient Chinese included crystals in traditional Chinese medicine as they were believed to heal people.

Since the dawn of human civilisation, crystals have held an allure for people.  Born from the depths of the earth and formed over millennia, crystals have been revered for their beauty and believed protective and healing properties

How does it work?

Crystal healing uses the energy and vibrational properties of crystals to interact with the bodies own energy fields promoting relaxation, restoring balance and promoting wellbeing.

The first scientific phenomenon associated with crystals was the piezoelectric effect discovered in 1880. Piezoelectric crystals when applied to the human body can generate electrical signals in response to distress within the body leading to improved healing.

Crystals have been shown to interact with and be influenced by electromagnetic fields such as those that are within and around the human body.  Crystals are believed to amplify vibrations leading to rebalancing and harmonising of our natural frequencies.

Crystal healing should be used along side of conventional healthcare to promote health and wellbeing.

Healing Crystals

Healing Practitioners and Metaphysical Advisors believe that each healing crystal has its own energies that promote specific healing benefits.  For example, Rose Quartz can be used to promote self-love and self-acceptance.

Different crystal shapes have different properties that can focus energies or enhance the healing properties of the crystal. For example, crystal points help focus healing energies, whilst egg-shaped stones can enhance meditation and breathwork.

Healing crystals involves the placement of crystals on and/or around the body.  This unblocks and changes energy flow promoting relaxation, balance and vitality. During a crystal healing session you will be guided into a relaxed state, you may feel warmth or tingling where crystals are placed and where energies are being moved.
